Recorded in January, March and April, 1966. Bonfá's guitar can be heard in all tunes: Personnel: Luiz Bonfá (guitar, vocal), Helcio Milito (drums), Donald Payne (bass), Jerome Richardson (flute), and Hal Mooney (arrange).

"THE BRAZILIAN SCENE" (Philips PHM 200-208) is the monaural version of this album. "THE BRAZILIAN SCENE" (Fontana International 858055 FPY) and "AGUACATE" (Verve LPR 18029) are Dutch and Mexican versions of this album, respectively. All tunes except "DREAM GIRL" can be heard in the Japanese compilation album "MOONLIGHT IN RIO" (Philips SFL-7306). "AVOCADO", "MALAGUENA SALEROSA", "THAT OLD BLACK MAGIC", and "EMBOLADA" can be heard in the Italian compilation album "BRAZILIANA" (Fontana 6430 127). "AVOCADO", "YESTERDAY", "THAT OLD BLACK MAGIC", and "I CAN'T GIVE YOU ANYTHING BUT LOVE, BABY" can be heard in Mexican 45RPM "aguacate" (Fontana EPF-1480).
